Before you go: the Walkway elevator closes before your sunset stroll
Planning an autumn Walkway visit with your dog? The bridge and its waterfront elevator do not keep the same closing time. That detail can change your route back.

Two closing times to plan around
The official 2026 schedule gives these October bridge hours. The elevator’s scheduled finish is 90 minutes before park closing, so the times below are calculated from that rule.

If you need the elevator for your return, plan to be back before its scheduled finish. Maintenance, high winds, or bad weather can stop it earlier.
