10 Dog-Friendly Wineries in the Hudson Valley

Hello, Hudson Valley pack! If you’re anything like us, a sunny weekend afternoon just isn’t complete without a great glass of local wine and your best furry friend by your side. We’re so lucky that the Hudson Valley is brimming with incredible vineyards that love our dogs almost as much as we do!
Whether you’re in the mood for a sweeping vineyard view or a cozy tasting room, we’ve sniffed out the best spots for you. Grab your leash, pack some treats, and let’s dive into 10 pawsitive-ly wonderful dog-friendly wineries you need to visit this season!
1. Bashakill Vineyards & Winery (Wurtsboro) Tucked away in the foothills of the Catskills, this organic vineyard is a serene, adults-only escape. Bashakill welcomes human-friendly dogs on leashes to enjoy their gorgeous outdoor patio. With live music, artisan food, and local wildlife buzzing around the neighboring nature preserve, it’s a good time for pups who love a chill, outdoor vibe.
2. Robibero Winery (New Paltz) Sitting on a beautiful 42-acre property, Robibero loves hosting friendly dogs! Just a quick reminder that all pups must remain on a leash and well-mannered throughout your visit.
3. Millbrook Vineyards & Winery (Millbrook) Often called the “crown jewel” of the Hudson Valley, Millbrook offers sweeping views and spectacular wines. While their indoor spaces are reserved for two-legged guests, dogs are enthusiastically welcomed in all of their outdoor spaces! We highly recommend setting up a picnic on their sprawling Vineyard Lawn with your pup and explore their beautiful Wine Trail for some well deserved walk.
4. Nostrano Vineyards (Milton) Perched atop a picturesque hill with breathtaking views of their 65-acre farm, Nostrano is a family-run gem. Friendly, leashed dogs are always welcome there. It’s the perfect spot to bring a blanket, grab a spot on the lawn, and listen to regular live music while sipping a crisp glass of estate wine.
5. The Waterwheel Vineyard (Poughquag) Built around reclaimed historic barns and a babbling stream, The Waterwheel Vineyard is a stunning weekend escape that our community loves. Your leashed pups will love soaking up the tranquil nature surrounding this family-owned estate.
6. Rose Hill Farm (Red Hook) This historic farm and winery taproom is bursting with rustic charm. While pups can’t go into the pick-your-own fruit orchards or inside the taproom, leashed dogs are warmly welcomed in the parking areas, picnic areas, and right outside the taproom where rotating food pop-ups serve up delicious bites.
7. Whitecliff Vineyard at Hudson (Hudson) If you find yourself near the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, this is a must-visit! Whitecliff’s Hudson location features a cozy, intimate tasting room and beautiful outdoor seating nestled among apple trees. Pups are welcome on leash to join you as you sip some of the finest estate-grown wines in the region.
8. Weed Orchards & Winery (Marlboro) A beloved 5th-generation farm that truly knows how to throw a weekend paw-ty! Weed Orchards is famous throughout the Hudson Valley for their mouth-watering peaches, refreshing peach wine, and legendary sangrias. Well-behaved, leashed pups are warmly welcomed to join you in their outdoor winery spaces (please just keep them clear of the playground and indoor areas). We absolutely love visiting for their vibrant seasonal celebrations—like the Peach Festival and Sangria Fest—making it a must-visit spot for your dog-friendly itinerary!
9. RMV Cellars (West Park) Why choose between wine and beer when you can have both? RMV Cellars (the sister location to Red Maple Vineyard and home to Great Life Brewing) is a dog-friendly, family-friendly haven. With no reservations required, you and your pup can wander the sculpture garden or relax outside while enjoying live music on Friday and Saturday evenings.
10. Clearview Vineyards (Warwick) This spot is a fantastic addition to your weekend itinerary! Friendly, leashed dogs are warmly welcomed in the outdoor patio area, at the picnic tables, and even at the end of the porch on rainy days (service dogs only in the tasting room). What we absolutely love about Clearview is their thoughtful setup: they offer a separate picnic table area away from the main patio that is perfect for dogs who might need a little extra space—pups who are in training or just a bit skittish in crowds!
