Make Your Sundays Meaningful: Take a shelter dog for a field trip

As the days grow shorter here in the beautiful Hudson Valley, we are all looking for ways to make our weekends a little brighter. If you are a dog lover craving some tail-wagging adventure, we have exactly what you need!
We are absolutely thrilled to spotlight a wildly successful, ongoing initiative from our friends at CARE of DC in Wappingers Falls. It is their Sunday Social.
CARE of DC has invited our incredible community to stop by every Sunday afternoon to take a shelter dog out for some much-needed quality time. Whether you are an avid hiker looking for a quiet trail buddy, a park enthusiast, or just someone wanting to offer a pup some cuddle time in your living room, this is for you.
Taking a dog out for just a few hours provides them with a vital break from the stress of the shelter environment. It gives them a chance to decompress, sniff new scents, and just be a regular dog for the afternoon. It is a simple act of kindness that makes a world of difference, and Frank.Endog gives this fantastic program four enthusiastic paws up!

The Details & Rules:
When: Every single Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Where: CARE of DC, 60 Smith Crossing Road, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590
Commitment: None! Just show up when you can.Requirements: You must be 21+ to participate.
Important Safety Rule: To keep everyone safe and stress-free, the shelter dog must be kept away from all other Make Your Sundays Meaningful: Take a shelter dog for a field trip during your outing. This means avoiding meet-and-greets with other dogs on the trails, and if you are taking the pup home for quiet time, they must be kept completely separated from any resident dogs in your household.
Paperwork: No pre-signups required. Safety waivers and all necessary info will be provided upon arrival.
Pro Tip: It is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE! Depending on the shelter’s current residents, there might be more eager volunteers than dogs. What a wonderfully “pawsitive” problem to have! Keep this in mind each week, and be understanding if all the pups are already out on their adventures.

Gather your friends, grab a leash, and make the Sunday Social your new weekly tradition. Let’s show these rescue dogs the very best of the Hudson Valley!
