Updated September 22, 2026. Apple picking with your dog starts with the orchard’s rules. These six Hudson Valley farms publish pet policies, but access varies by field and attraction. Check the day’s crops, admission and weather updates before setting off.

DuBois Farms (Highland, NY)
DuBois Farms in Highland welcomes well-behaved pets on a leash and asks owners to clean up. Check its current picking schedule and entry-voucher requirements before visiting; do not assume every attraction or indoor space admits dogs. Official visitor information.
Weed Orchards & Winery (Marlboro, NY)
Weed Orchards in Marlboro requires owners to sign its dog-policy form, available online or on arrival. Dogs must stay leashed; the policy excludes indoor areas and the playground area. Bring waste bags and read the full conditions before your trip. Farm FAQ and dog-policy form.
Prospect Hill Orchards (Milton, NY)
Prospect Hill’s published terms say dogs may be permitted when leashed, well behaved and under the owner’s control. Confirm which Milton picking location is operating and whether your dog can enter the areas you plan to visit. Prospect Hill visitor terms.
Greig Farm (Red Hook, NY)
Greig Farm in Red Hook welcomes leashed pets, but excludes them from asparagus, strawberry, snap-pea and pumpkin fields. Plan an apple outing without taking your dog into those low-growing crops. The Barn Taproom is a separate business with its own rules. Greig Farm pet policy.
Barton Orchards (Poughquag, NY)
Barton Orchards in Poughquag allows well-behaved dogs in the picking orchards. Keep them leashed except inside the designated Bark Park. Masker Orchards (Warwick, NY)
Masker Orchards in Warwick allows friendly pets that remain leashed and under control; owners must clean up. Its 2026 visitor page lists a September 5 opening and daily hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. through early November, subject to seasonal updates. Masker’s 2026 visitor information.
Tips for a Tail-Wagging Good Time:
- Leash Up: Always keep your dog on a leash for their safety and the comfort of other guests.
- Clean Up: Bring plenty of waste bags and always pick up after your dog.
- Hydrate: Bring water for both you and your pup, especially on warmer days.
- Check Ahead: While these farms are generally dog-friendly, policies can sometimes change. It’s always a good idea to check their website or call before you visit.
- Respect Others: Ensure your dog is well-behaved around other visitors and farm animals.
