Meet Benson: The Barkour-Loving Rescue of the Month! 🐾
Hello, Hudson Valley pack! It’s time for our favorite monthly feature, where we shine a spotlight on a local furry friend looking for their forever home. This month, we are absolutely thrilled to introduce you to a very special, high-flying pup: Benson!
Benson is almost 2-years old, 30-pound mixed breed who has, heartbreakingly, spent half of his young life in a shelter. But don’t let that fool you—this boy has the spirited, joyful soul of a terrier!
If you are an active Hudson Valley resident looking for a trail buddy, Benson might just be your perfect match. He is exceptionally high-energy and lives to run, explore, and sniff every blade of grass he can find. In fact, Benson is incredibly athletic and is known for his impressive “barkour” (dog parkour) skills! When he’s done jumping and exploring, his absolute favorite way to cool down is splashing around in a puppy pool.
What you need to know about bringing Benson home:
A Solo Star: Benson doesn’t do well with other dogs, so he needs to be the one and only canine king of your castle.
Stranger Danger: He can be wary of strangers at first, especially men. He needs a patient human who will let him take his time. Once he warms up to you, he is incredibly nice, enthusiastic, and ready to be your best friend!
House Ready: Great news—Benson is fully potty trained!
