Hello, Hudson Valley dog lovers! It is time for another heartwarming Rescue of the Month feature. This July, we are absolutely thrilled to introduce you to a very special, incredibly clever pup who is looking for his forever adventure buddies: meet Summit!
Summit is a stunning, 1-year-and-4-month-old chocolate-colored Husky. His journey to our community is a story of hope. Back in January, Summit and his brother made the long, brave trip from an overcrowded shelter in the South to a wonderful local rescue right here in the Hudson Valley. We are overjoyed to report that his brother Edge found his forever home just two weeks ago! Now, it is Summit’s turn to find a family to call his own.
If you know Huskies, you know they are brilliant, and Summit is no exception. In fact, he might just be a canine mastermind! He is highly intelligent and has become quite famous around the rescue for his delightfully mischievous “sticky hands”. Using those incredibly dexterous Husky paws, Summit was catched gently and skillfully “steal” extra food, toys, and cozy blankets from nearby kennels.

Social Skills: He is incredibly playful and gets along wonderfully with other dogs.
